The PCPNDT Act, 1994 is a territorial law. Its prohibitions on prenatal sex determination and sex-selective termination regulate conduct inside Indian territory. Medical procedures performed legally in another country, where such services are lawful, fall outside its jurisdiction.
PGT-A with gender selection is legal in Uzbekistan under the national regulations governing assisted reproduction. IMC operates as a licensed medical facility under the Uzbek Ministry of Health.
Your records stay with your doctor. There is no automatic information-sharing agreement between Uzbekistan and India for fertility treatment records. Your chart is held at IMC under medical confidentiality and is used only for your care.

Specific tests to complete at an accredited Indian lab: female hormone panel (AMH, FSH, LH, estradiol, prolactin, TSH, free T4), CBC, coagulation, HIV, HBsAg, HCV, VDRL, rubella, CMV IgG; pelvic transvaginal ultrasound with antral follicle count. Typical antagonist protocol: recombinant FSH 150–300 IU daily for 9–12 days, a GnRH antagonist from day 5–6 to prevent premature ovulation, and a trigger injection (hCG or GnRH agonist) 36 hours before egg retrieval. Most medications are stocked at Indian pharmacies; the coordinator arranges anything rare. All injections are self-administered at home under remote monitoring.

PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy) is performed on Day 5 blastocysts. A tiny biopsy of 4–6 trophectoderm cells is taken — this does not affect the inner cell mass (which forms the baby). Over 500,000 PGT-A cycles have been performed globally with no evidence of increased risk to the resulting child. In fact, by selecting chromosomally normal embryos, PGT-A significantly reduces miscarriage risk and increases the chance of a healthy baby.
Medical
Older methods (FISH, PCR-based PGD) check only 5–9 chromosomes and have accuracy rates of 90–95%. IMC uses NGS-based PGT-A, which analyses all 24 chromosomes with over 99% accuracy. This not only provides highly reliable gender selection, but also screens for chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidies) that cause miscarriage and conditions like Down's syndrome — giving you both gender selection and the healthiest possible embryo.
This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. In some situations we can perform PGT-A on previously frozen embryos, though the viability after re-biopsy depends on their quality and freeze method. During your free consultation, our specialist will review your existing embryo records and advise whether testing them is feasible, or whether a fresh IVF cycle at IMC would give better outcomes.
On average, 8–12 mature eggs yield 2–5 blastocysts suitable for PGT-A biopsy. Among those, statistically 50% will be the desired gender, and approximately 50–60% will be chromosomally normal. So from a good stimulation cycle, most patients have at least 1–2 normal embryos of the desired gender. Your age, ovarian reserve (AMH level), and sperm quality are the key predictors — all assessed during your initial consultation.
Many of our most grateful patients came to us after 1–3 failed cycles in India. The most common reasons for failure that we successfully address: embryos not cultured to Day 5 blastocyst (Day 3 transfer has significantly lower success rates), no PGT-A screening (transferring chromosomally abnormal embryos), suboptimal stimulation protocol, and timing errors in endometrial preparation. We will review your full history and propose a protocol specifically designed to improve upon what was done previously.

Typically two trips. Visit 1 (5–7 days): for the egg retrieval and fertilisation. This is the longer visit. Visit 2 (1–2 days): for the embryo transfer (FET), which can often be done as a day trip — fly in, transfer, fly home next morning. PGT-A results and all preparation for the transfer happen remotely from India between the two visits.
No. Indian citizens can apply for a standard Uzbekistan e-Visa online at e-visa.uz. It costs $20 USD and is usually approved within 3 business days. No medical visa category is required. We provide a formal invitation letter from IMC to support your visa application if needed.

If no blastocysts suitable for PGT-A are produced, we discuss options including a partial refund or a discounted repeat cycle. If PGT-A returns no chromosomally normal embryos of the desired sex, we walk through next steps in writing. Frozen embryos can be stored for up to 12 months as part of your package. Full terms are in the patient agreement, which you receive before paying any deposit.
Eligibility & edge cases
IMC accepts patients up to age 50 on a case-by-case basis. Live-birth outcomes decline sharply with maternal age after 42 regardless of embryo quality, so for patients over 42 a detailed telehealth consultation reviews realistic expectations and whether donor eggs should be considered. Paternal age has a smaller but real effect too and is discussed.
There is no strict AMH cut-off. Patients with AMH below 1.0 ng/mL can still undergo IVF, though fewer eggs are typically retrieved, which reduces the probability of multiple chromosomally normal embryos of a specific sex. In cases of very low ovarian reserve, two or three retrieval cycles may be banked before PGT-A is performed. All of this is quantified during your free consultation.
Yes. IMC operates a regulated Uzbek donor-egg programme with medically screened anonymous donors. Egg donation adds to the package fee; the coordinator provides a custom written quote covering donor compensation, screening, stimulation, and synchronisation.
Standard PGT-A screens whole-chromosome aneuploidy (e.g. Down syndrome, Turner syndrome). To screen for a specific inherited disorder (cystic fibrosis, beta-thalassaemia, sickle cell disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, etc.), PGT-M is added — a bespoke test built around the couple's family mutation, typically USD 3,000–5,000 additional. Yes. If you have remaining chromosomally normal frozen embryos of the other sex, a subsequent frozen embryo transfer cycle is priced separately (typically USD 2,500–3,000) without a new stimulation cycle. Embryos can be stored long-term beyond the 12 months included with your package, at a modest annual storage fee.
